This month, I was challenged to make a healthier, butter-free version of a classic roux sauce (or white sauce) using cold-pressed rapeseed oil instead.
I’ve had my own Great British Bake Off at home this month experimenting with switching butter for our hillfarm cold pressed rapeseed oil – even I’ve been surprised by the results!
It’s that lovely time of year when it’s cold outside and cosy indoors pottering in the kitchen and at this time of year I spend a lot of time making pastry. The other day I decided to try replacing the butter for oil – and the results were great!
