Visit the Hillfarm Family Meadow at Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival
by Clare Fairs, August 25, 2016
On the 24th and 25th of September we’re going to be sponsoring the fabulous Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival, and we couldn’t be more excited! The event is always brilliantly educational, promoting healthy eating and fresh ingredients, which we feel very passionate about.
Introducing the Hillfarm Family Meadow
At the event we’ll be debuting our ‘Hillfarm Family Meadow’, taking families on a fun adventure from farm to fork as they walk through our interactive experience. As you enter the meadow you’ll become a Hillfarm Harvester, embarking on an action-packed journey to find out how cold pressed rapeseed oil gets from our fields to your plate.
Along the way you’ll pretend to be a farmer by taking our mini-tractors – kindly donated by our local John Deere dealership, Tuckwells – for a spin around our straw bale track! You’ll also have the chance to see the world’s largest combine harvester, our very own Lexion 770, where Claas UK will explain how this enormous machine works out on the farm.
And there’s even more family fun to enjoy…
Once you’ve completed your journey as a fully-fledged Hillfarm Harvester, you can cook up a storm with Cook With Me Kids, before eating your treats on-site or taking them home to share with family and friends. There’ll be ice cream from Suffolk Meadow and you can even have your face painted as a bumble bee, finding out why these buzzing insects are so vital for farmers and our countryside as a whole.
If you’re going along to the festival, please do visit our meadow and say hello. We love to hear from our customers! Tell us how you use your Hillfarm products, and your top tips could even be featured in next month’s newsletter.
Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival takes places at Snape Maltings on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th September. For more information and to buy tickets for the weekend visit www.aldeburghfoodanddrink.co.uk. All the activities at the hillfarm family meadow will be free of charge.
